The Timberwolves announced on Tuesday that all-star Karl-Anthony Towns will be re-evaluated in several weeks and Adrian Wojnarowski reported that he will miss 4-to-6 weeks with a right calf strain. The Pro Basketball Docs expect that Towns will likely be out all of December and return early in January, although calf injuries are notoriously fickle and are a high risk of aggravation. The 27-year-old big man went down and immediately grabbed at his upper right calf after he pushed off getting back on transition defense.pic.twitter.com/uRB7mu8tBp— SIC injury vids (@sicinjuryvids) January 15, 2023 Since the 2019-20 season, the Timberwolves are a combined 73-86 record (45.9%) with Towns and 15-44 (25.4%) without him. Who Will Start for Wolves without KAT?Minnesota called up second-year center Luka Garza from the G-League, joining Taurean Prince and Naz Reid in the frontcourt reserve.Small forward Kyle Anderson has made two starts this year in place of Rudy and would presumably be in line for more, sliding Jaden McDaniels to the power forward slot. In those two games, Anderson averaged 27.7 minutes, 12.5 points, four rebounds, and 2.5 assists on 6.5 shots per game.
