Tiger Woods, as expected, put on a show in his return to competitive golf.He finished the day at -1 after birdies on the 6th, 13th and 16th holes and bogeys on the 8th and 14th.Woods was even on par 5s, +1 on par 4s and -2 on par 3s.From a health standpoint, he looked as the Sports Injury Central doctors expected. He had a noticeable limp when walking uphill or downhill on the difficult Augusta course.Still, his drives and irons on flat ground didn't look to be affected much by the severe right leg injuries he suffered less than 14 months ago.He did seem to struggle with his distance on an uphill lies. Even the broadcasters noted that Woods seemed to have trouble relying on his right leg to provide the power on those shots.By all accounts, Woods had a success first round of competitive golf. However, the question still remains if his right leg can withstand walking the notoriously hilly course four days in a row.He also winced and grabbed at his back slightly after a drive on the 9th hole. His five previous back surgeries have not been the focus after the car crash, but his back also remains a health concern. At the end of his round, he was tied for ninth place and the leader – Cam Smith – was at -4.Regardless of where Woods ends up in the tournament, seeing him on the course playing competitive golf is a breath of fresh air for the golf community.
